OptiLIGHT IPL

The First and Only FDA-Approved Light Therapy for Dry Eye Management.

If you have tried eye drops, but your dry eyes are still getting worse, OptiLIGHT IPL by Lumenis may provide the relief you need. This FDA-approved treatment uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy to gently and safely address the inflammation that contributes to dry eyes.

OptiLIGHT treatments are fast, lasting only 10 to 15 minutes, and many patients report improvement after their second or third session. After your initial sessions, you will only need occasional follow-up treatments with your eye care team at Oklahoma Eye Surgeons to ensure the best long-term results.

How OptiLight Works

OptiLIGHT IPL utilizes patented Optimal Pulse Technology, a precise and intense broad spectrum light. Through this, your eye doctor can safely and effectively reach the delicate contours of the treated area.

This light therapy typically includes four sessions, spaced 2-4 weeks apart. During the sessions, your practitioner will apply a coupling gel to the area and cover your eyes with shields. These treatments are gentle with minimum discomfort; the most you will experience is a warm sensation from the light.

Following your OptiLIGHT sessions, you may have some redness around the treated area, which usually disappears within a few hours. Most patients can return to their normal activities with no downtime.
